Department of Systems Engineering and Engineering ManagementTitle : Approximate String Matching on Texts
Speaker : Prof. Xiaochun Yang--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Abstract:
Alignments on Texts are important in many applications such as record linkage, spell checking, Web search, and biosequence search.
It is challenging to support alignments efficiently on large amounts of data or long texts. Despite its importance, the problem did
not receive enough attention in the research community a decade ago. In this talk, I will give an overview of our recent results on
his problem and introduce our package, an open-source software that supports efficient alignments on texts.
