Call for Demos

APWeb is a leading international conference on research, development and applications of Web technologies, database systems, information management and software engineering, with a focus on the Asia-Pacific region.
Researchers, practitioners and developers are invited to submit demo proposals to APWeb 2012. The topics include, but not restricted to, the following:
•     Web related technologies and applications/Prototypes
•     Web-based or Mobile Phone-based Medical Devices/Prototypes
•     Health/Personal Information Systems
•     Data Warehousing, OLAP, and ETL Tools
•     Stream/Sensor Data Management
•     User Interfaces and Data Visualization
Each accepted demo is required to have a poster and demonstrate during the demo sessions. APWeb 2012 will provide space and standard equipment (PC and Internet connection) at the conference venue.
Demo Paper Submission

All demonstration submissions must be no more than 4 pages (including all figures) in LNCS format (http://www.springer.com/computer/lncs?SGWID=0-164-6-793341-0 ) and should provide a short and clear description about the system to be demonstrated, covering a summary of its novel characteristics, the list of its functions and features. Any submission that does not follow the guidelines will be rejected without review.
The selection criteria used for demonstration proposals include novelty, technical quality, and presentation quality of the demonstrated system. Demo proposals need to be submitted via email to Chaoyi.pang@csiro.au as a PDF attachment before the deadline. Submissions should use Demo Proposal APWeb 2012 as the subject line. For every accepted demo paper, APWeb 2012 does require at least one person to register and present.

Demo Paper Submission: November 15, 2011
Acceptance Notification: December 15, 2011
Camera-ready Copy: January 15, 2012
Publication
All accepted demos will be included in the formal conference proceedings, which will be published by Springer in its LNCS series. Each final camera-ready demo paper will be at most 4 pages long.
