Revoking issued TS license ??
Eventually , the day has come !
New client fail to connect to the terminal server in windows2008 server because all CALs on the Terminal Licensing Server are exhausted.
It seems revoking an unused issued license will free up license for new client to connect . Well, that depends on the number of purchased TS licenses , you can only revoke 20% of purchased licenses . Let’s say, if you have 6 TS license purchased , you can only revoke 1 issued TS license :
0.2 x 6 = 1.2
So , I need to wait till any of the revoked CAL expires , before I can revoke another issued certificate. REF
Generally, when all your TS licenses are used up , your new clients should get a temporary TS CAL, which is valid for 90 days . On the other hand , TS CALs have an expiration date of 52-89 days after issueing. So if user with temporary TS CAL reaches the deadline of 90 day and there is still no TS CALs available, the user will fail to connect to server like in my case.
As for Microsoft official suggestion , we need to buy more TS license XD
