IE8 rocks!!

It has been a long time for me to restore an cloned XP SP3 image to lab PCs . After the restoring the image through ghostcast server , I tried to manual access the windows update site (http://windowsupdate.microsoft.com) from IE in that PC . It turns out a familiar error to me :

iexplore.exe Application Error
The instruction at “0x05320068” referenced memory at “0x05320068” .The memory could not be “Written”.

The error occurs because I do windows update through IE 8.

The fix will be unchecking the checkbox for “Enable memory protection to help mitigate online attacks” under “Tools” -> “Internet Options” -> “Advanced”
-> and then uncheck the box for “Enable memory protection to help mitigate online attacks”
