Put Win7 OS and System Reserved Partitions into same Disk
When I first install windows 7 enterprise , I took default disk layout , which it puts OS partition C: drive in Disk 0 , while 100M “System Reserved Partition” in Disk 1 . Now I need to make both of these partitions in the same disk , so that , I can do backup easier , but the most important of all is that I need to swap the 2nd 250G with another 1T HD.
Before the move , I create System Repair Disk from Windows 7 OS , and download Partition Wizard for the relocation .
After booting the machine with Partition Wizard DVD or CD , I relocate the OS C: partition directly next to the original “System Reserved” Partition on Disk 1 . After applying the changes , double check to ensure the “System Reserved” partition is set to be “Active” .
If you reboot the machine by now , you will see boot up error like boot selection failed with a required drive is inaccessible . Then reboot the machine with Windows 7 repair CD just created , and do the repair . It should boot up now.
